Connecting Community

Located in the heartlands of Buangkok, we are fortunate to be neighbours with various schools, medical institutions, community networks, public and private housing residents as well as religious organisations and social service agencies.
We recognise that autism spans a lifetime, and to provide a quality of life for our beneficiaries through our residential service, community partnership is vital and essential. To that end, SAAH is in regular dialogue with our corporate and individual partners, and friends and supporters in the industries of education, autism, and community.

Raising Awareness Within the Community
Some of our efforts to raise autism awareness in the community include:

(i) Holding Regular Open Houses for

  • Corporate and Community Partners
  • Families
  • Principals and heads from Ministry of Education

To provide better insights into the autism community, and understand how they can support us, or keep SAAH in their thoughts during their post-18 planning.

(ii) Bonding with Neighbours through

  • A local movie screening about autism, The Wayang Kids
  • Tour around the premises
  • Complimentary McDonald’s brunch with various fringe activities

To increase autism awareness and foster neighbourly ties with our neighbours from the nearby Compassvale Helm estate.

To cultivate a better understanding of what autism is about, and the need for a residential home built for adults with autism among the neighbours.

(iii) Hosting Local & Foreign Friends

  • Agency of Integrated Care (AIC)
  • Autism Association (Singapore)
  • Pastors from Shandong
  • Autism Society Philippines
  • Government organisation in charge of special needs in the Republic of Korea

To share and exchange tips on caring for persons on the autism spectrum in different nations.

(iv) Coming Together as a Nation through

  • The Purple Parade’s marching contingent with
    • Families
    • Beneficiaries
    • Staff

To promote awareness and celebrate the abilities of people with disabilities.

To support the special needs movement, while decked in their unique costumes.

If you are keen to play a part to help our beneficiaries lead dignified and meaningful lives, or wish to contribute, contact us at corpcomms@saac.org.sg. Be a part, not apart.
